In 2023, I had the pleasure of working on the ITV Studios production of ‘A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story’. Set in 1955, this period crime drama tells the story of Ruth Ellis, the last woman in the UK to be hung for the murder of her lover, David Blakely.
As the Graphics Assistant on the production, I created the dressing props and some of the action props which included period alcohol labels, book covers, food and cigarette packaging as well as police/court paperwork for scenes at the Police Station and the Old Bailey.
This was a demanding role in which I worked very efficiently to tight deadlines and last minute requests. I was highly collaborative with other departments like Set Dec, Props and Clearance to ensure our work was accurate and produced to the highest standard.
I had to manage my own time very effectively, frequently working on location to dress sets and ensure all graphic props were where they needed to be at the right time.
